The Alen AMS12 is a 12,000 BTU cooling only split air conditioner and also functions as a 70 pint dehumidifier. This model is highly energy efficient at 13.5 SEER and is whisper quiet. This is a lower cost alternative to a central AC system and is much quieter than a window or portable AC because refrigerant and condensate lines run through a small whole in the wall to the outside unit. The Alen split air conditioner does not take up any floor space as the indoor air handler is wall mounted.
Note: Always use a HVAC contractor to install mini splits. Vacuuming and charging of the lineset / system is required during installation which needs to be done by a contractor. Do not try to install the product yourself; improper installation can result in water or refrigerant leakage, electrical shock, fire or explosion. Depending on code requirements, an electrician may also be needed to install a dedicated power circuit.
