We got this fan for our bedroom, to use by itself, and to help circulate cool air from the AC. We couldn't believe how quiet it was - the old fan hummed and thumped, but this fan is absolutely silent. On high speed, you can hear the air move, but that's it. It installed in about an hour, including removing the old fan, just like the directions said. It looks great too, we were able to get the combination of finishes here that we couldn't find elsewhere.
