Comments about Monte Carlo Fan Company Grand Prix Ceiling Fan in Roman Bronze and Teak Blades - Energy Star:
I have my Grand Prix (Roman Bronze w/ Teak) fan in my bedroom, which is NOT a large room, just a BARELY larger-than-average bedroom. I have it flush-mounted due to having an 8 ft. ceiling. Despite being flush mounted, this fan moves insane amounts of air. It replaced a 52" 5-blade fan by Hunter [...] about 10 years ago. The efficiency of this fan is unfathomable. On low, it produces what the other fan would on medium, and on medium, what the other fan produced on high. On high, it moves outrageous amounts of air, which is very desirable after taking a long run in the hot, Southern summer heat. The fan, by default, lacks a speed comparable to a normal fan's "low" setting. However that speed realistically is rarely used because of the minute amount of air moved. If that speed is desirable, I recommend the 4-speed switch for 212mm motors. Personally, I use the WK100 wall-mounted remote, which I don't recommend. If remote operation is desired, purchase the handheld, otherwise stick with the 4-speed switch for 212mm motors.That being said, this fan, like any other, has some flaws. The biggest flaw which pisses me off the most is that within 24 hours of installing it, I realized my blades were warped a ridiculous amount. I pray these can be replaced under warranty by CSN. Nobody can notice since I have the fan constantly running, but if it is stopped, the warped blades are VERY noticeable, and I'm greatly disappointed by this.The other flaw, whilst minor, is that when a remote is installed, there is not a second bottom cover to provide the option to remove the direction-switch and pull-chain, and cover their normal locations so that it looks as though they aren't there. This would have been nice to have since they're rendered 100% useless when using the remote.
